Gland Packings

Gland packings are a classic sealing element for rotary seals at high pressures and are mainly used for valves, spindles, centrifugal or plunger pumps. The main braided yarns used are ramie, aramid, PTFE, graphite and carbon fibre. The agents used for impregnation are greases, oils, PTFE, graphite and a combination of these materials.
The braiding and material structure has a decisive effect on the functional reliability and service life of the seal.
